PROTEST/RALLY – FRIDAY, JUNE 22nd

Why it matters: Following months of public and media attention exposing group home closures, cuts to services and supports, and lengthy waitlists, the provincial government and Board of Directors of Community Living BC (CLBC) publicly admitted that the agency had “lost sight of its core values.”

Then, the promise of change: a new Minister of Social Development, internal review and audit of CLBC, new executive leadership at CLBC, client support team to deal with urgent issues, and $18M in additional funding.

Now, reports that senior executives at CLBC will receive 10% wage increases while families must settle for a meager $2,800 per year, and frontline support workers are told that there’s no money for pay increases after a three year wage freeze.

Show your support. Attend the rally!
